What to do for 2nd wedding anniversary?
« on: July 11, 2011, 11:57:19 AM »
I wanted to surprise DH with some kind of plans or maybe an itinerary somewhere but I can't figure out what to do. Our anniversary is in september so that gives me some time. Keeping in mind that we're very young and have a limited budget, does anyone have any ideas?

We live in Leeds and love the outdoors. Are there any places where we can rent a cabin out for the weekend perhaps? I can't find any but I'm not sure where to look either.

Any ideas are welcome and very much appreciated!

I'm afraid you'll find that most self catering places (such as renting a cabin or cottage) require longer stays than a weekend - usually at least a full week with a specific day of the week that you must "check in".

Lake District? We stayed at a gorgeous B&B in Newland Valley, the Swinside Lodge hotel.  Right at the foot of Cat O Bells and some of the best food I've ever had in my life. Lovely hosts as well.

Oh thanks for the tip! I'm going to look into that.

Jennie, the lake district sounds and looks so lovely!

Mirrajay, I found a few weekend only ones but they're soooo expensive! Didn't realize hotels would be cheaper than self catering cabins.

DH got a super deal for that B&B somehow, so keep your eye out, but there are LOTS of places in the Lakes that are gorgeous and not too expensive.
