we are still volleying that around.

we are thinking that we both want to walk in together to "let's go crazy" by Prince.

Signing of the certificate to "I Will" by the Beatles or "Two of Us".

and walking out/greeting guests to "home" or "40 Day Dream" by edward sharpe and the magnetic zeros.

First dance will be Everlong by the foo fighers.

and the rest of the music that night has been set up on a play list with selections from all my best friends in the states. Nothing is off limits so we have everything from the misfits, to bon jovi, to the drifters, to beyonce... its awesome.

My sister got married a few weeks ago and she used the Valse of Amelie for the entire bridal party (including her) walking down the aisle and then "So happy together" for walking out togehter.  It was lovely.

This has got me thinking as to what I want to use- I'm thinking instrumental of Ribbon in the Sky by Stevie Wonder.  ;D

How's this for a twist...

I walked in to one of my favorite Renaissance Faire performers song, which was in a Portugese dialect of Spanish back from the 14th century.

His name is Owain Phyfe.  In the CD he performs with the New World Renaissance Band. Its called Quantas Sabedes Amar Amigo (If you know how to love, my friend)

The basic gist of the song says, If you know how to love, my friend, come with me and we shall bathe in the waters of Vigo.  It is there that I will see my love."

Vigo was the City of Love before Paris got the title :)

If you want to check it out, its absolutely lovely.  It is number 11 http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/tnwrband2

Now that I've gotten married: I walked in to Scotland the Brave (not my favourite but I never got around to asking our piper to not play it) and out to Mari's Wedding, which my bridesmaids and I recognized and sang along with.

Our first dance was some german wedding waltz that the band plays by default and the last waltz, again with my husband, was Caledonia so I got my song without trying  :D

My piper, cheeky bugger that he is, piped us into the reception hall with a tune I don't remember, and then as he walked out switched to Yankee Doodle Dandy, making us all laugh.

I'm late to the party here, but I figured this thread will continue to be read by soon-to-be-brides! So here's my 2 cents...

I "walked down the aisle" to Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros. Sigur Ros is my favorite band of all time. Hoppipolla seemed so fitting because of its ethereal beauty and because, in a weird way, the translated lyrics just seemed so perfect and summed up our LDR quite well. The song (and music video) fill me with insane amounts of joy and hearing it play while walking towards the love of my life was just...unreal.

I'm getting all choked up just thinking about it!

link to the song -

oh oh, and I almost forgot - I REALLY wanted to walk out to that horrrrrible song "Friday" by Rebecca Black because A. We were married on Friday and B. I thought it'd be hilarious. I think everyone involved was quite happy that I didn't get my wish on that one.  :D

I absolutely adore this song and that's a magnificent one to walk down to. I considered that one =) I might go with Zero7 Destiny.. It's very ethereal as well =) I also think Iron and Wine's Flightless Bird is beautiful (for any indie, folk fans) or Gregory and The Hawk's Boats and Birds (OMG I love this song so much)

Heh, cool :)

I walked down to Electrelane's To the East and we walked out to Passion Pit's Sleepyhead.
