Do you see them on the island?
Do they still make them?
I like them too.
Cheers

I do..there is one for sell at the moment..am considering buying it just so I have it when I pass my test. The front of our house is looking like a bike shop at the moment..I have my 125, hubby has his 1100 and my step son has a yamaha 650 as well..and next door has a triumph... ::)

For a scooterist, calling a scooter a moped is offensive.  End of.

Offensive or not, is is defintely an error. But both mopeds and scooters are little buzzy things* with 2 stroke engines, so the mistake is an easy one to make... ;)

* look up "vespa" in an Italian-English dictionary

Actually, most scooters have modern 4-stroke engines that are much more similar to motorcycle engines than old moped engines.  In fact, the newest models have electronic fuel injection and engine computers just like cars do.

I'm aware of what vespa means in Italian. :) It actually got its name more from the shape of the rear end on the original 1946 prototype than from the sound it made.

But yes, it is an common mistake to make for the uninitiated, which is why we scooterists are quick to correct it.  ;)

Strange because with all the rain in the IOM it must be uncomfortable to be on two wheels? Having said that I check the IOM webcam daily and I rarely see rain there. I need to see rain!
