WANTED: American Milk Crate...
« on: October 16, 2012, 09:27:00 PM »
Bit of a strange want... haha Looking for American Milk Crates, either plastic, or metal, want them to store vinyls... Looked on eBay, none in the UK, lots on eBay USA, but I don't want to pay £30 shipping... So figured there is some people here that brought their entire life with them to the UK and might have some of these that they no longer need...

Thanks!

I miss my milk crates!! They used to hold cds until I moved over here..

Have you looked at simple shelving systems from IKEA? Like Expedit bookshelf with Lekman boxes (if you want to use boxes)? I think theyre wide enough to hold a few records or so (at least I think I've seen that system posted on some forums i visit)

My partner and I cant agree on what to go with, so when we're a bit more flush with cash going to build custom shelves on the side of the chimney breast, similar to this:

Record players will be on a shelf as well, with our cds way at the top and records at the bottom for easier access (other side of the chimney breast will hold books, dvds, blue rays and video games)

PS: Our current storage system is split between two cardboard boxes and dj record box (fake flight case material)

Sorry Dahmer, I love my milk crates and you can't have them!  :P ;)

I did find on this DJ website similar types of things-

But they are definitely a bit pricey!
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

My daughter and her flatmates found Tesco Delivery Crates quite useful when they were at University- very similar idea to milk crates :)

I've also tried to find one as I want to put one on the front of my bicycle, but they're really rare in the UK :(
