Savings before moving?

Hi everyone,
I'm hopefully coming over on a spousal visa.  I know that we have to have enough to cover council tax etc. before getting granted the visa.  I was just wondering how much previous people on the spousal visa had saved before moving over.  After visa and plane ticket fee's I've only got about $1500.  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sent in Application and Biometrics Tuesday October, 4th.
Email saying consulate had received application October 7.
Visa issued October 13!
Moving to Leeds November 10th!
