Good luck with finding a tenant, via UKY or any other lettings sites etc. The price range for your home means really only the very well off would consider your home to rent. Added on top of the rental amount you've listed, utilities and council tax will add a significant proportion to the total mandatory outgoings needed. Just your rent amount alone is significantly more than what most of the UK population earns in a month for instance!

There is of course a market for high end lettings and perhaps some UKY members are indeed in that sector, so no harm in advertising it anyway !

That is a fair point DtM but if you could see the view from the house across the Sussex countryside....it's priceless! 

In all seriousness, we are at the top end of the market but being near Tunbridge Wells and especially compared with London rental prices  , we are very well placed indeed and offer exceptional value for money.

Saying that, any price is open to negotiation and in this market it pays to be flexible and considerate to each individuals needs.  Not all landlords are same and we being in rented accommodation ourselves due to a job move, (hence why our family home is being posted here) have had first hand experience of what a bad landlord is like! We hope we'll be better thought of by our tenants to be.

I know this isn't ideal, but have you considered using a letting agent?  I would think that the majority of people who could afford your rent would be using an agent to streamline their search. 

We have used agents in the past and to be honest they charge a lot of money for very little work!  We use them for referencing purposes but in terms of managment we find we're better at it ourselves.

Also by posting somewhere like here where people are genuinely looking for a family home I feel we'd attract a better kind of tenant - at least I hope so!  A friend recommended this website too so here I am.

I agree with you about the majority of letting agents, but unfortunately I am guessing that many people who could afford your home are probably the same people who prefer to use agents to find a place to rent.  When we first moved to London, we looked at a lot of places advertised directly by the owner, but to be honest, not many of them were worth seeing. Not that yours isn't, it's just that we found the quality places (which were accordingly more expensive) were the ones listed with agents. So I'm thinking you'll have a harder time attracting the people you're looking for.  Not that you won't find one, but I think it would take longer.

Why do you think you won't find a quality tenant using an agent? I can imagine someone wanting a family home would use one.  Particularly if a family is being transferred overseas due to work and they need to find a home relatively quickly.

I agree and second this. It is a very large sum of money, but I'm sure it's a lovely home. Perhaps you would have better luck at finding a tenant by posting your property on website like Rightmove, Zoopla or Gumtree? Best of luck..
