Hi there
« on: September 19, 2011, 06:40:26 AM »
Hello everyone. I am so relieved I stumbled upon this sight because I am so stressed out about this move. My name is Harlow, I'm from Alabama and have lived in Alabama most of my life. I'm very southern, come from a traditional tight-knit southern family. I'm the baby of the family, and the last one to get married.

I met my fiance by sharing a cab in Atlanta and we've been together for three years. He's from Glasgow but has lived in Tokyo, Abu Dhabi, South Africa, New York and London-pretty much the opposite of me. He was married previously to a woman from the UK who lives near Glasgow and they have a five year old daughter together and of course being an ocean apart is very hard on my fiance. So, we are both looking for work in Glasgow and a place to live so that he can be near his family and his daughter.

So that's me, and hopefully I can get some good information for us. (well, mostly for myself since he's a native and I've never even stepped a food on UK soil lol)

Welcome, Harlow. I'm from Tennessee and that other kind of Southern family -- the kind where nobody gets along and we all live as far apart as possible. I blame my stepmother, Scarlett O'Psycho.

We can't do anything about the homesickness, but for everything else...welcome aboard!
