I absolutely love FB and I'm not sure I'd want to survive without it! Sure there are people on it who annoy me, but that's no different from real life.  ;)

Tried it. Hated it.

I just don't really see it getting off the ground properly, tbh.

Its set up similarly to when facebook opened up to the public...
Also Facebook chat < GChat.

Just my own 2 cents...

I do Google-proofings for people who are paranoid about their apps.  Most of the time it's fine, but sometimes you get somebody where it seems the whole reason they use FB and Twitter is to tell the world how drunk they are.  It's about 99% of what they post.

For sure they must spend part of their lives sober, but that part doesn't make it into their status updates.

I think everybody should be on FB, it's great.  But try to keep your status updates balanced across your whole personality and not just the times you are drunk.  Or, heaven help us, stoned.  And try to remember:  not everybody gives a toss if the bus is late or not.

I took a course in Twitter and how to use it, but haven't taken that plunge yet.

Oh, I love Facebook as well! I'm possibly an addict. I've been on it since 2006 and can't remember how I got by without it. I like to see what people are up to and it's how I keep in touch with a lot of people. I update my status a few times a week, so I don't feel like I'm above it or anything. It's just the people who update their status every 30 minutes that annoy me. I call them "life story" people and they're exactly the same in person.

On the other hand, I don't understand Twitter.

I feel like Twitter is more useful for businesses etc rather than regular people, but then I know a few people who really like it so maybe I'm missing something.

One of my friends just posted a photo of her toddler naked on the potty.  I'm sure the baby will be grateful when she's older.

There are some really nice UKY people on FB.  Check around and join up with them.  There's also some people on FB who don't post here any more and it's a good way to stay in touch with them.

I understand it, but I find it really boring.

That's how I feel. I do use it for an organisation of which I'm on the committee - it's good for making announcements, drumming up membership numbers, etc. But I would never use it personally.

I took a course in Twitter and how to use it, but haven't taken that plunge yet.

It's not that complicated.  ;)

I find myself pressured to constantly post on Twitter to keep my followers.  So I stopped tweeting, but there are times I miss it.

I sometimes forget on FB that I have my family, my husband's family, and people who really barely know me.  People who know me know my sense of humour.  People who don't or want to store things away for future use.  I find myself deleting things maybe not regularly, but once in a while.

I love twitter!!
I find it pretty fast paced and its all about who follows YOU and not who YOU follow, if that makes sense? The few business sites I follow are actually useful (Royal Mail is one of them, ironically enough) and some are just spammy (Hi target!!) If someone hasnt tweeted in a while, I do 'un-friend' as I believe they havent logged in for some time.

I use it more for mini-blogging (which is why its limited to 140 characters) If I want to share with the world where I am (I dont use 4Square) or what Im eating, I tweet about it. Its also connected to my Tumblr which is a great way to connect to larger posts and interesting links.

Tweeting isnt for everyone though.

I've just joined twitter and have been following my friends. From what it looks like, it's about the same as facebook statuses. Am I wrong there? I didn't post anything and don't really like it so will probably delete my account. I just saw my friends who are not annoying on facebook, being really annoying on twitter :p. One friend kept posting up things about her cat which really bugged me. Babies, pets, it's all the same. "I'm giving my cat a bath and he doesn't like it" type of thing.  ::)

I'm in the 'would be lost without FB' category too. It really helps for keeping up with family and friends back home, plus there are a couple games I'd actually have some free time if I wasn't addicted to.  ;D I just needed to vent about people. But as it was said above, most people are the same on FB as they are in life. If you are the 'tell all about all' type offline, it only stands to reason you would be online, since even private people are more open online because it 'feels' more anonymous than face to face talking.

I've been on Twitter almost a year now, and I have made just under 210 tweets. I get the idea of it, and can see how it is a great place, although not so much my thing. Hubby and a friend are on there all the time, with either random silly thoughts, or using it as a free texting service to each other - although both have unlimited free texts each month. I signed up for Google+ and have never really used it or even liked it. I suppose each of the social network sites have their up and down sides and everyone gravitates toward the one(s) that work for them.

Still, I do wish some people on my list would think about some of the things they post, and whether or not it is something they want the whole world to know.
