Home Phone Plans
« on: October 07, 2011, 09:19:16 AM »
6 years ago when I came here, I signed up for a provider that was then, Toucan, recommended by someone on here.  It was great as you paid a flat rate for unlimited international calls.  It has switched names afew times and is now Talk Talk.  They are saying they are no longer going to offer this plan.

So...I was wondering what plans some of you might have that work well for international calls.

Thank you!

I love the SKy plan its 5 pounds a month and its unlimited calls to mobile.landlines to the USA.  You can't talk over 60 minutes or then you are charged, so you hang up at 55 and call them back ;-)

Its cheaper for me to call the states for 55 min every week then it is to call someone in England haha

I recommend this plan http://www.sky.com/shop/broadband-talk/talk-linerental/

I actually used to be with Talk Talk and had a really good package with them where we got free calls to the US for the first hour. Unfortunately the internet part of the package was not that great but I wanted to keep it whilst hubby was still in the US in case the internet went out completely! When my husband moved over here we changed to Virgin which is great internet and speeds but expensive calls.

But up until I changed in August, as I say, I was with Talk Talk on the global package and internet for some time and their phone package was really good in that way. Although it sounds like you have been on a different package having been transferred over from Toucan.

You also dont have to buy your tv/phone/internet together if its not right for you. You can buy separately. Until a few months ago our broadband was with one provider, tv with sky and telephone with BT. For some, it can work out cheaper.
