American Soda in Ashton-U-Lyne
« on: October 17, 2010, 11:33:16 PM »
Just wanting to post about my little trip to American Soda in Ashton-U-Lyne, right near the Ikea...thats in Manchester, nearish to Oldham...

Whats the deal with Mountain Dew? The young kids (cough cough) were lined up two deep to buy MD? It tastes like Lucozade...I asked them what the dilly-o was with MD and they just said "well we have nothing like it here in Britain" and I thought...lucky you!!! LOL...

Anyway,  I went to American Soda and it was your nice normal little American Grocery store with the usual imported items, but the people were nice, and it was close to me!
I bought some Nestle Semi Sweet chips, some twizzlers, and my 5 year old ate two bags of Cheetos. Oh, and I ran back in for a can of Mountain Dew...meh.

But if you want your fix of American stuff, its worth a visit!!! Enjoy!

they do have cheetos and lucky charms!!

if you order more that £20 before shipping they will give you 10% off.
I have used the following codes:

They also have a Facebook page (just search for American Soda).  They'll post updates about new shipments coming in, last minute deals, etc.

The only thing I have ever ordered from them online has been 3 bottles of A1 Steak Sauce, because thats far better on steaks and burgers than anything the UK has!!

I keep pleading, either online on their Facebook page or by direct email if they can stock Little Debbie Nutty Bars, as I was hooked on them in the USA, but so far I have had no positive reply!!!

Apparently theres a lot more USA Import online stores, as well as actual stores, here in the UK as well as American Soda!! Just do a Google or Bing search!!! ;D ;D

the US version of Mt Dew is no longer available at the store/online. It contravenes some EU legislation.  Not a biggie for me as I don't like Mt Dew but thought I'd pass the info along.

It is still available on Cyber Candy.

It looks like the banned thing was an urban legend.

On the other hand, Irn Bru was banned in the US and Norway.

In fact, it looks they have tried to relaunch it.

I haven't seen anything about it though.  Guess it was not so successful.   ;)

It looks like the American Soda store has a better selection.
