Dangerous behaviour...
« on: October 29, 2011, 09:42:02 AM »
I bought the Peanuts 1960s Collection DVD yesterday.  It has Charlie Brown Christmas, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown & some others of the Charlie Brown cartoon TV specials from back in the day (my childhood).

On the back of the case, it shows that the DVD is rated PG - Parental Guidance, general viewing but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children...because 'contains potentially dangerous behaviour which could be copied'.  My husband saw that & started to laugh.

I said - I don't remember all those disclaimers about Peanuts when I was a little kid watching these cartoons back in the late 60s & 1970s.  He said well you were probably engaging in all sorts of dangerous behaviours back in the 1960s, since health & safety had not yet been invented.  :P

He's probably right!  ;D

That irresponsible Linus sets a bad example by staying out all night in the pumpkin patch.  Why, he could be kidnapped/bitten by zombies/catch a cold!  Don't do it, kids!

Lol!  I was racking my brains trying to work out what dangerous behaviours the Peanuts & co gang might have been up to, in order to warrant a warning like that!

Oh yeah!  We actually did copy that dangerous behaviour when we were kids, but the funny thing is that the kicker just kicked some air & kept on running/hopping along.  He (or she) didn't fly into the air and land on his (or her) back like Charlie Brown does in the cartoon.  Maybe we just weren't trying hard enough?

I bought that too!  I only wish it had the Thanksgiving episode.  Then it would be perfect.

I think their dancing is dangerous! You never know what degree of whiplash those poor kids necks may have!  ;D
