Wisconsin to Merseyside: almost 5 years ago

Hi all. Just learned about this site from one an expat facebook group.  Moved here to be with my husband, a born and bred Cestrian (guy from Chester) in 2008. Am from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but lived in Rochester, Minnesota for about 10 years before moving to the UK. Have been through the drama of living without Saturday Night Live, not being able to see all the Packer games, failing my UK drivers test two or three times, Indefinite Leave to Remain, fixed-term to permanent contracts at work, selling and buying a house during dire, dire, dire housing markets.  Teetering on the brink of a happy quiet life with a man I love in a house near (not on) the Irish sea while I "revel" in the mildest (although darkest, windiest and rainiest) winters I've ever experienced. I'm happy to discuss anything, but am more of a lurker on boards than I am a leader.  Thanks for having me!

I am from Milwaukee as well!!  We lived in Durham for 3 years and then moved back to brew city for 2 and have just returned to Manchester.  I just wanted to say welcome ;D it always nice to have another Wisconsinite on the board

Indeed.  I am from La Crosse :)

You know that Channel 4 shows American football games late on Sunday nights, right?  The Packers were on New Year's Day, kicking the Bears' a$$es, bwah hah hah!  >:D
