Greetings all
« on: December 16, 2011, 07:57:29 PM »
Found this places searching a few things, and thought I'd just jump in and join. I'm Mike, originally from St. Louis, MO. I joined the U.S Marines where I served as a Rifleman immediately after I graduated high school in 02, worked in warehouse for a couple years after I got out, and moved to N. Ireland in 2008.

I moved over on a marriage visa to be with my wife, who I met on a holiday to Ireland some years back. I've worked as an Engineer in perimeter security since I've been here, working over the whole of Ireland, North&South. Got my ILR, and have been eligible for naturalisation since May, but just got the funds together to get that going. Hoping it's pretty straight forward.

Personally I've always been involved in martial arts since childhood, starting to get into bushcraft, and perfecting my Irish that i was able to get my GCSE in the language during my spare time. When I'm not spending time with my wife and cats, I'm involved in the islands pagan community, and like a wee drink now and again, although I'm starting to cut back at that as I can't take it like I used to!

Looking forward to chatting here and there with everyone.

Welcome aboard.  ;D I had a laugh over the comment about cutting back because you can't take it like you used to. We went out to celebrate a friend's birthday last night. A few drinks with friends is a bit different in this part of the world... ouch.  ;D

;D lol, I've always been a fan of a proper pint, but think I'm just hitting the age where I experience hangovers. Guinness, Samuel Smith, McEwans, all great, but need to go in moderation now.

Our MMA gym had our Christmas doo last Friday where they guys brought home-brew and poitín. Needless to say I wasn't on my best behavior when I got home, and  had to cancel attending a B-day the next day because I couldn't bring myself to leave the sofa  [smiley=smug2.gif]

I thought you said a 'proper pint'!   ;D ;)
Don't they have any real ale over there?!  ;)

(seriously though, welcome to the forum!)
