Anybody know where to buy rennet in the Manchester area?

Tablet of liquid form would be fine.

I want to start making cheese.

I don't know where you would get some locally, there is a brilliant cheese shop in Didsbury called the Cheese Hamlet, but if you google cheesemaking supplies, a few places come up. Good luck.
