Black Eyed Peas for New Year's

Hi All!
I'll be moving over to Scotland next August and I was wondering if anyone has spotted black eyed peas in the grocery stores there?  It's sort of a Southern tradition to have them for New Year's, and while I don't HAVE to do it, I would be interested in keeping up family traditions.  Are they known by a different name or found in a particular place in the store (ie Caribbean, Jamaican sections)?  Any help would be great!  Otherwise, I'll just bring over a couple of bags of dried with me!

I've seen them in a tin, called black eyed beans. I bet they probably have dried ones, too, if that's what you wanted!

They are available in cans and dried, as mentioned called black eye beans. Not had a problem getting them in supermarket. Dried with the usual dried pulses and canned with the kidney beans etc.

DW is from New Jersey but has always done that for NY and continued it when she moved over here. Uses up the leftover ham as well and good to combat the likely hangover!

I was wondering the same thing about where to find them here......although I have not really eaten them it was a tradition with my step mom.......she fixed them every year for New Years and nagged at me to do it as it was supposed to bring good luck.....so after having her tell me this for about 5 years or so I finally broke down and got some dry ones to cook for New Years 1996....I had just put them on to boil that morning and was getting ready to call my dad and step mom when the phone rang...it was my dad to tell me that my step mom had passed away that morning......I threw the black eyes peas out and never tried to cook them again.......anyway was thinking about it again so maybe.....we'll see......take care!!!!   

I found them in Tesco here in Glasgow and are called beans.  I bought the dry ones.
