Krav Maga or Crossfit recommendations?
« on: January 30, 2012, 06:33:51 PM »
Hello, all!
   I'll be moving in March to London and wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations for either Krav Maga or Crossfit centers to train in? I don't really like working out without a goal and both seem to have an insane amount of fitness (Unsurprising on the latter, but maybe a bit on the former) elements to them.

Thanks for any pointers! :)

I've looked into, but not tried, CrossFit London.

Thanks for the recommendation! Is there any reason in general that you didn't want to try Crossfit? I'm totally open to other fitness suggestions; I just don't want to gain a ton of weight from all the tasty food in London! :D

I decided not to do Cross Fit because the people who tend to do it, and take classes, are slightly fanatical and in a super boring way.

Convenience for me. There's a gym 5 minutes down the street from me, whereas CrossFit I'd have to take public transit, which is another barrier to going.

Also, as bookgrl said, I'm a bit wary of the super into fitness vibe.

Okay, fair enough on the answers. Perhaps I'll just start with normal gym and see if they offer any classes there.. Thanks for the responses! :)

There is an 'open level' Krav Maga class held at Canary Wharf on Friday evenings {you plan to work at CF, yes?}

Thames CrossFit is located in Canary Wharf:
