I also suffer from incredibly dry skin, especially in the winter, and was a user of CeraVe. Though, it never did much for me. I now use Pond's Deep Moisture Cream and in the past have also used a deep moisture night cream by Alba, which was also really good and hydrating.
From what i understood, CeraVe, though available at your local pharmacy (at least here in the States) is more of a Dermo script. So, if you can't find it at your local Boots and whatnot then perhaps you can check if your dermatologist can prescribe it to you? Though, I'm not sure how much of an expense it would be.
