Big year for our household!

Hi Everyone!!!

So, we decided after my first year here in the UK on my spouse visa that we would apply for my husbands to go back to America.  I sent via express mail theh I-130 to the embassy in London and they received it last Thursday. 

We are very excited to get that process started!  Of course, nothing is set in stone as it is up to the government to decide our fate, but we're hopeful.  I am wondering if anyone has done this recently in the UK and how long it took you to get the postcard/email/text that the received your application.  I'm not stressing over it because I do like it here and if this has to be our home, so be it.  But, it would be nice to go back home.

My two year anniversary here will be October 21st so I suppose I will have to start my extension in September.  Of course, it has been ages so I don't even remember what to do, lol, but I'll refresh myself come spring.

Yay! We are starting my husband's this spring.

Last I heard it was about a 10 month process from submitting app to greencard- not sure about the I-130 application received letter. Have you checked out diveintoamerica.com? It is a site for Brits moving to the US.

We finished in October.

going thru the process now.  husband has medical examination tomorrow.  here's a good forum for other's experiences.
