Chicago to Oxford

Hi Everyone!

Looks like I'll be moving to Oxford in January 2013! My wife of 4 years is a British citizen with a green card. The company we work (with offices in Chicago and Oxford) for has offered her a promotion that needs to be based in Oxford. Knowing our situation, they are bringing my job over, too.

I am looking forward to the move, but the list of things to do beforehand is daunting! I'm glad I found this site. There seems to be a lot of info on step down converters, moving a beloved 10 year-old cat, applying for the spousal visa, etc.

We live just south of Oxford (Abingdon), and there are a couple of other local members on here (including, surprisingly enough, "Oxford", so let us know if you have any questions about the area...

I actually know the Oxford area pretty well, at this point. My wife used to live there and, since the company we work for is located there, I've been many times. That said, I'll probably have some questions about rental properties, etc...
