Tapatalk or mobile apps
« on: January 16, 2012, 04:41:50 AM »
Hi,

I've been lurking for a little while and I am enjoying the forum. It has been helpful in helping me prepare to move to the uk.

I did a quick search and didn't find it being brought up anywhere, but I was wondering if there are any plans by the moderators to add Tapatalk support, or any other forum apps? From what I can tell the the software the forum uses supports it, and it's free to install (though the app costs $3.00, which I bought assuming all forums supported it-- oops!)

Thanks!

Hi Rutro,

Yes, I'm aware of and had considered Tapatalk, but yours is the first request for it. I'll see what I can do. :)

Regards,
Leah

Tapatalk has been installed. I don't have it on my mobile so it'd be great if you can tell me if it's working as expected. :)

I've used it on my iPad, and it works great  ;D

Got a message automatically when I went to the site (on the browser) asking if I wanted to use it, and then it was very easy to set up.

I have it on my iPhone, and so far it works well.  Very similar to other apps I have used for other boards.  Is there really anything that Leah has to do?

Props to the moderators/owners. Tapatalk is great. Makes it so much easier to comment while being mobile!

I think it would depend on how often you would use the mobile app and whether loading full forum pages uses up your data allowance or takes too long. With the android version, if you don't like it you can uninstall and get a refund within 15 minutes of purchase. I couldn't tell you about iOS versions. :)

I haven't used it myself, but I think it contains a large directory of other forums that are enabled for Tapatalk as well.

It depends how you use your mobile device. If you are like me and fanatically check it for email, facebook, twitter, etc. then yes - good investment.

If you have not found yourself cruising the forum via your phone then don't bother.
