New York to Newcastle
« on: July 20, 2012, 12:17:12 AM »
Hi Folks,

I'm brand new here, and I have a myriad of "Leave To Remain", employment, and real estate purchase questions, before making my jump to "The Toon", to be with me Geordie Lass.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've read, it seems very simple for a non-citizen to purchase UK real estate?  It seems that the British government's main concern, for any immigrant to receive a positive nod toward "Leave To Remain", is his/her ability to provide their own housing. If that's the case, then I should look like a very good applicant for petitioning for a work visa/citizenship.

I appreciate any/all comments and help.  Thanks

Which route of entry are you going down?  Finance/Spouse or another?

Good luck, I live in nearby Sunderland.

Financial.  I would like to purchase commercial/income property 1st, to get a property management company, and my personal residence, up and rolling.

So are you applying for Tier 1 Investor or Tier 1 Entrepreneur?

To be granted a visa, you must demonstrate you meet all the conditions of that visa - it doesn't make a difference if you own property in the UK or not; if you do not meet the requirements of the visa you are applying for, you will not be granted that visa.

For a Tier 1 Investor, this may be useful if you haven't already had a look:
