Hello Folks!

I'm starting my move journey to get my British Husband, myself and my 45lb dog over to the UK next spring, and it appears that the process for the dog is going to be worse and more expensive than it will be for the 2 of us!

I was considering flying to France, and driving over (ferry or train) as an alternative as the cost seems extortionate to fly directly into the UK.

For reference, I am in NC, and can fly from any east coast airport with minimal struggle. Will aim to fly from ATL or IAD/DUL to get a direct flight.

The cost of the customs agent at landing seems to nearly double the expenses, and I can't get a clear yes or no that having an agent is REQUIRED.

Anyone with recent experience in 2012 with moving pets, cost, issues, recommendations etc, would be EXTREMELY appreciated!  ;D
