Discovery: change counter/deposit machine at NatWest
« on: June 13, 2012, 10:13:08 AM »
We have tons of change just sitting around and the nearest coinstar isnt close and finding time to bag/roll with a baby hasn't been easy.  So change has been accumulating.

Then I discovered that some large NatWest branches have a coin counter that deposits directly into your (presumably natwest) account.  We used the one on Regent Street (across from the Apple store) last weekend and it was fantastic.  In went the coins, right into our account.  Woohoo!

Surely other banks have these machines?  But I had never seen one in the US and either used coinstar (with their usurious fee) or rolled coins.  This was fantastic -- and fast.  Turns out we had a ridiculous amount in change.   :o

My credit union in the US has a free coin counting machine that deposits into your account.

Metrobank here in the UK also have a machine that's free. I don't think you have to have an account there to use it, but I'm not sure (haven't tried it out yet).
