Londons smallest flat !
« on: October 01, 2012, 12:00:19 PM »
Hi all,

More tongue in cheek for this post, however it does have a rather serious price tag of £90,000 !

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2210436/Is-smallest-flat-London-Home-measuring-10ft-8ft-goes-sale-90-000.html?ITO=1490

It's just 10x8 feet in size! overlooks the Harrod's building and seems it exists to have the sought after Chelsea & Kensington parking permit !

Get your offers in now!

Cheers, DtM! West London & Slough!

Wow, what a tiny dump. You are totally paying for the lobby, and the area, and I guess the parking space.

Maybe the person who buys it can keep their double bed in their parking spot?

If I was single and craving the London life (maybe how I may have been years ago) I'd love this place!  I love the challenge of being as minimal as possible.  I have a feeling though that it may be a bit *too* small for me.

My 1st dorm room at Harvard was about that size. And it didn't come with a parking space.

Of course, there were other 'perks.'

For £90K if I had the money I'd buy that flat if I lived in the burbs and commuted in, especially if I drove, it would be a fantastic crash pad.

If I was single now, I'd totally try and get a mortgage and buy it, nice safe neighbourhood, I could rent that parking space out and even though I'm married  I'm never home anyway! :) There's no point in living in Central London if you're hanging about at home, somewhere to pile up some books would do me, although my immense dress collection might pose a problem!  :)

I am with you Cheesebuscuit, if I actually thought this place would go for £90k and if I were in a position to buy, I would snap it up.  The parking space will likely pay for most of the place and it would be a great crash pad.  I would be really interested in seeing how I could decorate/design the space as well.

I wouldn't mind a little pied-à-terre... but, personally, I would need it to fit at least a double bed!

And that 'kitchen' needs to be gutted.

Sheesh, my master bathroom in the states was nearly as big as that!

I'm afraid I'm wayyyyy too claustrophobic for something like that.  Although I agree, designing/finding space in it to keep things would be a somewhat fun challenge.

I would love to remodel this place! I mean really, why did they make the bathroom door so small when they have plenty of headroom! and laminate flooring are you serious?!?!I love all the windows, such potential!

Would be a great place if you had the money to spare for week ends in London! Just imagine hoping over to Harrods for breakfast! Oh Yeah!

I bet you could fit a double bed in there just need to be creative!

It will fit a double/king bed.  You just may need to make it a murphy or one that folds in half (like a couch) and then lays flat when you need it.

I can't survive without a bath tub!

Maybe there is one across from Selfridges with a tub?

Doesn't seem too bad to me, especially if it were a crash pad and you were there for the week or something.   Doubtful it would go for only £90,000, especially now that it is a 'celebrity'.
