I saw bits of the interview on Youtube, I guess there would have been an agreement not to ask any "close to the bone" questions.
Seeing the reaction of the audience members interviewed on BBC News afterwards it seemed to have have been a success for Cameron - they thought he seemed like a nice guy and now a few people in the US know who he is.
The one thing that amazed me is they said on BBC News that the audience for Letterman is only 3 million? Does anyone know why he is paid (and lauded) so much with viewing figures like that? I mean, more people watch Holby City, and I'm sure the entire budget for that is a fraction of Letterman's salary.
Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever understood what the deal is with US talk shows. I'd ask my resident American if she gets it but she's run off to Minnesota for 3 weeks.
