Maryland Absentee Ballot
« on: October 11, 2012, 07:59:35 PM »
Just looking at my absentee ballot and I notice that I do not have any ballot questions on it. I have sent a message to the Board of Elections about this, but wanted to see if anyone here knew if it should/should not have the questions.

We have some interesting ones this year, and I want to be able to vote on them.
Sometimes I amaze even myself.

When you vote absentee from overseas, you generally are only able to vote in federal elections (ie, for President, Senate, House), not in local or state level elections. So I assume that means no ballot question.

You are correct, Aimless. I actually got a response from the board of elections last night, and that is just what they said.

That is generally true, unless you still consider yourself a resident for purposes like taxes (in which case you'd have to file a state return as has been discussed on here before). As a general rule, whatever levels of government you're still under the taxing authority of are what you can vote on.
