The lawyer may "walk it in," but they don't get it processed any faster than if you mail it.  The $150 they charged you is the standard priority fee.  The $350 is just to hand it to a clerk who puts it on a pile with other priority apps.  If you purchase priority and mail it overnight then that's basically the same as the lawyer's service, just a heck of a lot cheaper.

There you go :). That $4,350 would be much better 'spent' on showing how you will be able to support yourself in the UK during your visit than on hiring an unnecessary lawyer :).

Applying for a visitor visa shouldn't need to cost any more than the £78 ($129) visa fee, plus $150 for the priority service (if you want to use it), plus the cost of shipping your documents to the consulate by FedEx/UPS... so about $320 in total.

Good morning! I've finished my new 6 month visitors application but not hit the send button yet! I've put yes about the denial and in the field to provide the information this is what I wrote:

I made a mistake filling out my first application for my visitors visa for 1 year. My intentions were to visit for 6 months or less. I have 6 grown children, 4 grandchildren, a business, owned home, an elderly parent. I wanted to be able to come back during Christmas and return again. I called the World Bridge hotline, explained my plans and asked the proper visa I needed. The lady recommended a 1 year visa. I always knew that I could only visit for 6 months or less and booked my flight to return in less that 6 months from arrival. I also put the wrong date of return on the application by mistake. I'm very sorry.

So does this sound ok? I thought I should perhaps write a formal letter to attach as well when I send in the application? If you think I should reword this please let me know!

Thanks so much again!
Jeri

Well today I've finished and sent in my new application for the 6 month visa! My new bio is for next Tuesday at noon and we will cross our fingers that this time I've done it correctly. I sent so much information last time but of course don't know if it was enough and want to be sure to provide the right things this time. If anyone has any ideas on specific things that would be more helpful I would appreciate the help. I also thought a to the point letter explaining myself might be good, trying not to beg! Anyway thank you all again,
Jeri
