Where can I buy home organization items?
« on: November 03, 2012, 11:17:17 AM »
I prefer to go into a store. We've been to Ikea and I found very little to use for organizing little things. Specifically, I was looking for something to put my make up in on the bathroom counter. In the US, I used this item from The Container Store: http://www.containerstore.com/shop/bath/cosmeticsOrganizers/countertop?productId=10001053&N=71792

I've tried all sorts of seemingly logical places like Robert Dyas and TK Maxx, but no joy. Am I missing the super secret organizing shop?

Thanks!

Have you tried Muji?

No... Off to google...

Hmmm.. After a look, seems they don't have it either. Thanks for the suggestion, though. There's one near the Whole Foods, so I might go by tomorrow. ;)

I use a vintage biscuit tin!

Try Ryman's Stationers.  They are all over London, and here is something that might suit you!

I recommend using something temporary until you find exactly what you are looking for. When I first arrived, I bought cheap stuff just to recreate my expectation of what a home should have. Save your money for the perfect item you may find once you are settled and get to know what is out there better!

Muji is amazing for little organizational things. Also, since you'll be on High Street Ken tomorrow, a wander down to the Robert Dyas could prove fruitful (there's a Rymans as well). They have all sorts of bits and bobs for the home.

John Lewis could also be helpful. And frankly Poundland is worth a wander if you find one near yourself.

Have you tried Amazon?  If you don't already have UK accounts, you can pay on US credit cards.   ;)
