Does anyone know what the VAF2 is? I cannot find guidance for it and it's only in a sidebar on the UKBA website. It appears to support general employment, the sidebar is on the family members accompanying migrant workers/students page though. Any help is appreciated!

The VAF2 is for a number of specific types of visas, which are outside the regular sponsored work visa categories:

-    Domestic workers
-    Contract seaman
-    Representative of overseas business
-    Clinical attachments
-    Film crew on location
-    Overseas qualified doctors taking the PLAB test
-    Postgraduate doctors and dentists

See here for more information on how to qualify for any of these:

Or, the VAF2 is used if you are the family member of someone who has temporary permission to live and work in the UK as a migrant worker, but they are not under the points system (points system visas include: Tier 1 or Tier 2 work visas, Tier 4 student visas, Tier 5 temporary work visas etc.).
