Document check
« on: December 09, 2012, 10:48:01 PM »
Hi everyone!

I've put together a list & expanded on it of everything I need to get together for the Supporting evidence. Could some one check this over and see if I'm missing anything or need to expand on any area? I'm sending this to my fiance' so we can get everything together ASAP for January. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated!

Quote
Application form (Appendix)
 passport photos
Applicant's passport

Evidence of sponsor's immigration status in UK (sponsor's passport)
-This usually takes the form of the sponsor's passport. If the passport itself cannot be presented, then a notarized copy of the portrait page should be made by a UK authorised notary or solicitor (i.e., member of the Law Society). If the sponsor does not have a passport, then the sponsor's original birth certificate can be substituted, although this would be considered rare.

Evidence that the sponsor and applicant have met
-Pictures, Airplane tickets-Itineraries

Letter from the sponsor confirming the application and explaining the grounds of the relationship
-In his case, the amount he pays in rent and council tax = £0 because they are covered by his other benefits, therefore all you have to worry about is whether or not his weekly income is greater than £111.45.When you apply, you just show that his income is more than £111.45 per week and then you show that his rent and council tax is paid for him and that he does not need to subtract it from his weekly income. He can state this explicitly in his sponsor letter - explain that the rent and council tax is paid by his benefits and so he meets the requirements based on his weekly income alone, with no deductions taken out. He will need to provide official evidence of the benefits he receives and confirmation of them continuing once you have moved in with him.
-Intent to marry/Details of engagement
-little sypnosis of how we met & confirming
-Explain email screenname
http://www.londonelegance.com/transpondia/sites/default/files/spousal.pdf.
Although it is not strictly necessary, a brief summary (one or two paragraphs) of the relationship can be included which addresses: [1] how and where you met; [2] how you have maintained contact; [3] the date and location of your marriage; and [4] plans you have made for living in the UK (or more specifically, why you are opting to live in the UK).
Finally, if there are exceptional circumstances about the application, or if the sponsor is seeking a concession, it should be thoroughly explained
Evidence of sponsor's employment in UK/Benefits
-all paperwork he has to show what benefits he receives
-Everything issued by DWP
-P60s
Sponsor's bank statements (6 months)
Evidence of sponsor's mortgage or tenancy agreement

-paperwork from the council stating his housing benefit allowance
-Council tax allowance information (He can also request a proof of council tax benefit from his local council.)
-Original Tenancy agreement
If rented accommodation, evidence that the landlord gives permission for an additional resident
-Landlord letter
-Rent reciepts
Evidence of on-going contact
-Screenshots of facebook, emails, or phone bills.
If available, a provisional registry office booking
A photocopy of all original documents submitted
Biometrics

I used what transpondia has listed on his site and added a few notes from posts and stuff to make it a bit clearer for my fiance', but if i'm missing anything please let me know!

Your list looks good - just a couple of comments on different parts of the list, in case you aren't aware:

Letter from the sponsor confirming the application and explaining the grounds of the relationship
-Intent to marry/Details of engagement
This is not normally part of the sponsor letter, although obviously information about when you intend to marry can be mentioned in the letter. Your evidence of Intent to Marry will normally take the form of correspondence with the church or registry office where you will marry, enquiring about possible dates for the ceremony, maybe even booking a provisional date at the church/registry office. You can also include any other evidence of intent to marry, such as pictures of the rings or dress, details of venue bookings for the reception etc.

Evidence of on-going contact
-Screenshots of facebook, emails, or phone bills.
It is recommended that you do not send anything from Facebook, as it is not considered a reliable source of evidence, and in some cases, can even hurt an application rather than help it (i.e. Facebook accounts can easily be faked). It might be best just to stick with any actual cards or letters you may have sent each other in the mail, plus screenshots of your email inbox/Skype call logs/phone bills etc. - only send a couple of sheets of paper for the screenshots though, you don't need to send reams of paper or anything

If available, a provisional registry office booking
This will be part of your Intent to Marry evidence, as I mentioned above.
