New Knowledge of Life the in UK test - any news?

I've been holding off on taking the test since I don't need it until next spring, and also since I'd rather be boning up on British history, etc. than the stuff that is on the current test. The word in the summer was that it would come into effect in September, then I heard October, and now it's halfway through October, and nothing. Has anyone heard anything about when it might appear?

Yeah, I was scheduled to take it next week, but I decided to cancel because (amongst other reasons) I wasn't sure which version of the test I'd be taking, or what to study.  And since I don't need it 'til spring anyway, I'm as well to wait.

The only part that sucks for me is that it will mean an extra trip to the mainland to take it, which pretty much quintuples the cost.  I'd been trying to get it done while I had to be there anyway.

I don't need it till next summer so I'm waiting as well.

When they announce it I imagine it will be with at least a month's notice.

They still haven't announced anything, but I was wondering if anyone has heard anything yet about a new test format? Everything I find on google is from July.
