ILR Set M Question
« on: December 17, 2012, 08:45:12 PM »
Hi, sorry if this is a silly question, but hoping someone can help with this.

We are completing my wife's ILR application, and are stuck with the following question.

7. Have you had your fingerprints taken as part of a previous UK immigration application made in the UK or abroad?

8. Give details of where your fingerprints were taken.

This is complicated by the fact my wife lost her passport containing her spouse visa, and was subsequently issued with a biometric residence permit.  She had her prints taken in St Paul, MN for the original application, and again in Glasgow after losing her passport.

My reading of it is that she should give details on the appointment in St Paul, as the fingerprints in Glasgow were not part of an immigration application as such. She thinks she should refer to Glasgow as she has already stated on the form that she has a biometric permit, therefore she should detail the fingerprint appointment linked to that card.

Any ideas?

I had my biometrics taken twice. Once for Tier 2 visa (in the USA) and once for FLR(M) (UK). I got a passport stamp the first time, and a BRP for the FLR(M). I mentioned both times and had no problems.

I think you might want to err on the side of caution and include both biometrics sessions, especially since she now has a BRP.

I would put both.

I think they refer to the previously taken biometrics when reviewing your application to be sure she is the same person as the Fiance Visa applicant, the FLR(M) applicant and the SET(M) applicant.  :)

It doesn't matter she lost her passport, the biometrics would still be the same.  :)

And, as cuatez said, it can't hurt to include both.  :)

Thanks guys.  Followed your advice and have sent it off.  At last.  :)

I was just paranoid they might reject it on some silly technicality such as "you wrote it in the wrong place"!
