New Jersey to Derry, Northern Ireland
« on: October 22, 2012, 07:12:13 PM »
Hello Everyone!!
I'll be living in Derry, Northern Ireland 3 years come December. I moved here to be with my wonderful husband. We met while I was backpacking around Ireland. We did the whole travel back and forth thing then got married in New Jersey. We only found out ,after he came back home, that I was pregnant with our first little girl. We now have two gorgeous girls 2 years and 8 months. I've FINALLY just got a job and I am so excited to start helping support my family. Still haven't got my license yet...applying for my Provisional next month...which is soooo long overdue! It's tough to go from being totally independent back in the States to no work and no driving here. But I'm getting there. I'm so lucky to be with my husband. I'd never go back to the hell that our long distance relationship was. I miss my family across the pond a lot...but I suppose we can't have everything. Thankfully my mom is coming to visit the end of November!! Hope everyone is keeping well and settling in ok!

Hello and welcome!

I was born and raised in NJ (Hunterdon County), lived in Scotland for a wee while, and have been living in Jersey City for about 5 months.

Where abouts in NJ are you from?

Good luck with getting your license! I never got that far.  :)

Hi and welcome to the board.  My sister lived in Hillsdale, NJ for many many years.  Kudos for hanging in there.  Once you get your license things should move along quite nicely.

Congrats on getting a job.  All the best :)

Just wanted to say hello!
I live in England but my husband's from Derry.
Lovely story of how you &your hubby met and great to hear you're all together, long distance a thing of the past.
I just passed my driving test last September, tho driving on some of the those hills in Derry would scare me still!
