Child entry into UK
« on: February 27, 2013, 09:42:35 PM »
Hello All.

I'm a US citizen living in California with an British husband. We have a 3 year old boy who is a dual citizen. We are going through the paperwork process getting my son's UK passport (sent in just waiting), he has one from the US already.

OK, so here is my question. We have a last minute trip to the UK happening in April and I don't think his UK passport will come in time. Can he enter the UK with his American passport? Or will that have a effect on his British citizenship? (Like using his American passport he means to renounce his British citizenship.)

Thanks so much!!!

No, he can enter using his US passport. It will have no effect on his British citizenship. But he will be stamped in on a tourist visa.
