Gosh it's been a while since I've had reason to post anything in here!  :)

I'm potentially considering visiting Glasgow later this year to see friends and stuff and I just want to make sure of a few things before I purchase my plane ticket and everything.

To recap, I was a T4 visa holder and had the vignette in my old passport. Then I had the T1 PSW in the form of a BRP. The T1 expired a little over a month ago.

Do I need to apply for a visitor's visa or should I be fine to just turn up as long as I have all the normal stuff like proof of ties to the US? Should I bring my old visas with me for any reason?

Thanks!

You don't need a visa; just turn up.  The IO usually goes through my passport and sees all the stamps and says, 'so you used to live here?' and I say yes.  Then they usually ask why I'm here, and I say I'm visiting friends and family.  Then they say have a nice visit.

Yeah, I never had any problems visiting after I moved away. They may just look at the visa twice to check the dates, but it's no big deal. Have a fun time!
