hi guys, my partner and i will have been living together for 2 years from the 15th of july and I am intending to apply for the flr (m) unmarried partner visa. unfortunately my tier 1 psw visa expires on the 14th of july (typical!). i have heard that as long as i apply a little while before my tier 1 psw expires, by the time they consider my flr m application it will be past the 15th of july and therefore we will have lived together for 2 years. has anyone been in this situation (where they have acquired the 2 year limit while application is in progress)? any successes or fails? advice much appreciated.

That should be fine :)

You can leave applying, in fact, right up to the 14th as the date of application is actually the date the application is posted (according to the postmark). This would make most people nervous though so a day or two before should be fine.

I've seen 10-year rule applications work in this way where the 10 years hadn't quite been completed when the application was made but was completed a short time after it was submitted and I've not seen a refusal on those.
