Hi :D
« on: March 17, 2013, 10:51:22 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm Joey, I'm 31 and live in the UK. I am in a long distance relationship with Scott, who's 34 and lives in Florida in the USA. We are looking to close the distance and hopefully get Scott over to the UK for good.

I'm disabled and live with my best friend who is my full time carer and her 8 year old daughter. I'm a student with The Open University studying my fourth of five years for a BA/BSc (Hons) in Health and Social Care.

I've known Scott since I went over to the US to visit a friend in 2002. We met at Blockbuster's where he worked and lost touch a year later, but he tracked me down online and emailed me in April 2010 and then came to stay that September, we've been together pretty much since then.

I'm hoping that this forum will be able to help us on our journey to closing the distance!

Nice to meet you all!!

Joey :D

Hi Joey,
Welcome to the forum. I'm also the UK half :)  My husband came to live the UK in 2011. We are now approaching the application for 'Indefinite Leave to Remain' *gulps*.
Time flies by so fast but I remember only too well the LDR part of our relationship and the getting married and visa confusions! I find UK Yankee an amazing site and it has certainly helped me and continues to do so.

Good luck with everything in the future and I look forward to hearing your other half joining you in the UK :D
