Here I am!
« on: March 23, 2013, 09:05:20 AM »
Hey everybody!

My name is Gina and I am a Philadelphia born native currently in the West Bridgeford area of Nottingham.  My partner, Tony, and I have recently become engaged on Valentine's day... I know, I know a bit cliche haha! I'm not over here on a visa yet but hopefully after we meet with a lawyer on Monday i'll be one step closer! :)

A little bit about me:
-I have a background in baking/pastry before moving into food management/ marketing. I'm also in travel... maybe professionally!
-I am from Philly but I have a house in Florida and love to visit other states. Some of my favorites are Texas, Hawaii, Arizona, and California.
-I'm currently living in the Nottingham area but I have also lived in Lincolnshire and have traveled around the UK quite a bit.
-I'm 26 years old, 27 in July! :/ where does time go?
-Some interests include, exploring new places, reading a good book, cooking/baking, photography(although I'm not that great yet!), secretly watching reality shows, reiki, and the list goes on...

I'm here to meet new people, swap stories, and maybe even give/get some advice! My first question is, where is a nice town to live west-ish of London. Tony is looking for a new teaching position further south and so far he has applied to some school in Swindon and Oxford. Any thoughts on those areas?

Excited to hear from, well, anyone! :)

-Gina x

Welcome and congratulations. Good luck with the lawyer Monday!!

Sorry I can't offer any ideas on your question about towns west of London- I'm still stuck at figuring out where we will end up too.  :)
9/11/2012 Husband mailed his US citizenship application.
9/17/2012 Received e-mail stating his application has been entered into the system.
9/22/2012 Hubby received letter with date for finger printing.
10/12/12 Hubby went for finger printing.
10/26/12 Dh got a letter stating when he should appear for his interview and test- 11/27/12- just a month away!!!
11/27/12 We went to dh's interview and test- he passed and we went back 4 hours later for the Oath Ceremony! 95 people from 38 countries, really pretty cool!
So he's now a US citizen!!

Welcome and Congratulations!

I live in Swindon, so can give you some advice as to whether the work you want to do and such is available. PM me if you have specific questions.

It's a nice town, with good links to London and Wales, so that may be helpful!
