Boston Marathon explosions

The stuff kicking off in Watertown happened at the end of my friend's street.  She's okay, but locked in her house.

Also, two friends were on the sidelines of the finish line...one left the area 15 minutes prior to the explosions and another was just far enough to not get injured from the second blast.

Scary.  Apparently the remaining suspect is only 19, from Russia originally but has lived in the US for several years and also goes to UMass Dartmouth.

I just can't wrap my head around all this tragedy.

It was all so sad, and so scary. I went to Harvard, so I know a lot of people there, and thankfully everyone I know was OK, and I am even more thankful that it is now over.

So confusing. So sad.

I'm so sad for everyone who has been effected by it.

Pointless deaths. Innocent people. Heartbreaking.

Thankfully the suspect has now been captured and although seriously injured is able to communicate somewhat.

The officer who was wounded in the chase is a friend of my son's from high school. They think he will recover OK.

It did sound pretty dire. He was hit in the femoral artery and nearly bled to death! But they got his heart going again and rushed him to hospital. Last I heard he was able to squeeze his wife's hand and is able to move his toes -- so they are hopeful he will make a good recovery.  My son says he is a pretty tough guy.
