Northwest folks!
« on: April 19, 2013, 11:33:46 PM »
My husband and I are going to be up north from the 23rd-26th (ish) of May. We'll be in Manchester specifically on the 23rd to catch a concert in the evening. Just wanted to see who might be interested and available to meet up for lunch or coffee or something that afternoon!

I usually try to convince my husband into going to Blackpool whenever we're in the area, so it is possible we could meet up with anyone there, as well, but have no definite plans at this time.

Who's game? (: It'd be great to meet some of you guys! (And I'm kind of dying to be around some American accents... lol)

Hope someone takes you up on this! I'm not in Manchester, but Leeds.

There are lots of Americans over there though.  :)

Maybe with your trip being near/including bank holiday weekend people are having plans to do with that?

Thanks - I hope so too!

There was actually brief talk of heading over to Yorkshire, but if we decide on that we'd only be going as far as Huddersfield to visit some friends.

I know there's a bunch of expats floating around in Manchester, it's just a matter of finding them! I think you're right, though - the bank holiday is probably complicating things a bit. Was just hoping that maybe with a month's notice, I could convince some people who might not have plans!

Hi!
I'm in Manchester, but will (hopefully) have a very brand new baby in the house right around then, so we'll have to get together next time! Have fun here though, it's a brilliant city!

Congratulations on your incoming bundle of joy!

I'm sure we'll make it back up to the area sometime (MIL lives in Preston). I'm always excited to go to Manchester. Well, I'm always excited to go to an area of civilization. The town I live in is just way too small for my taste.

We'll have to work something out in the future, at any rate. (:

Hey heyjay!  Thanks for the invitation.  I'm in Liverpool, and need to stay with guests in Liverpool that weekend, but I'll keep an eye out for future gatherings in Manchester.  Hope you enjoy your time in "civilization"!
