Good US/ UK accountant

Hi there:

I am in need of an accountant who is fluent in both UK and US tax laws. I have an inheritance - all US federal and state taxes have been paid, and at some point would like to move the money to the UK but don't want to trigger any additional tax consequences or get the IRS nervous.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do not be shy! Ask if they are members of professional bodies in both the US and UK and if so, which ones and for how long.

2. COST
Ask what they charge!

3. COMFORT
Pick one who is dual US/UK qualified and who you feel you can get on with. This is personal choice so call a few firms before deciding...

FYI you should not have a UK inheritance tax liability on an inheritance from a US estate, but you will have to deal with US and UK tax on any interest or gains your inheritance makes in the usual way depending on your citizenship and residency.
