NYC to London
« on: May 23, 2013, 09:03:46 AM »
Hello!
New to the site here, and am finding it so useful! I'm Madeline, and my husband and I are moving to London with our pooch in July form Manhattan.  He received an amazing job opportunity there, and as we have enjoyed traveling around the UK a bit in the past, we decided to take a leap.  We are moving to the Queen's Park area?  I say it with a question mark as I don't know if it an actual neighborhood or not.   :)  NW6 is where we are headed, at the least.  My husband is 30, I'm 25 and we couldn't be more excited for the adventure. But the whole process is quite daunting, as well.  I am sure I will be asking a plethora of questions.  Mainly about housing and getting my dog here. Looking forward to getting to know a few of you expats, hopefully.  Cheers

Welcome! Queen's Park is a nice area, I used to work around there. There's a massive park, great for walking the dog, and a lovely bookshop. There are also cute cafes and restaurants around.
It is difficult to speak adequately, or justly, of London. It is not a pleasant place; it is not agreeable, or easy, or exempt from reproach. It is only magnificent... the biggest aggregation of human life, the most complete compendium in the world.
