Hello,

I'm leaving for the UK in less than two weeks and I've found a few jobs I'd like to apply for to get ahead of the game, but is getting an NI number a lengthy process? Should I be waiting until I have one to start applying?

You can apply whenever you want. You don't need an NI number to work.

You can definitely apply and start work before you have your NI number, it won't affect your employment possibilities at all, only how much taxes are taken from your wages.
