Are Thorton's considered high quality, or just mid-quality?  I know I can get them in town at their shop. I know I can get Green & Blacks and I'm pretty sure I can get Lily's if they have them at our Morrison's. Lindt is hit or miss. I know this because I often have to search high and low to get them for my husband, who loves Lindt.

Personally, I think Thorton's is mid-quality. I mean, I'd EAT it if I had to  ;), but if they're food snobs, I'd go for something a bit more unusual/high-end. Personally, I'd be happy with a Roses box right now!

I agree. It's not top quality choc. But I wouldn't turn down a box of Thornton's!

I'm fond of Rococo chocolates, they're pricey, but lovely (avoid the floral chocolates, blergh). I've definitely seen them at Waitrose.
It is difficult to speak adequately, or justly, of London. It is not a pleasant place; it is not agreeable, or easy, or exempt from reproach. It is only magnificent... the biggest aggregation of human life, the most complete compendium in the world.

Those Lauden ones are practically artwork - I think I'm gonna give them a go.

I love their flowery ones! Geraniuam! Lavender! Yum!

Oh yeah - G&B definitely good. Also love Hotel Chocolate but they are only sold in their shops (there's one in Leeds) or maybe online too.

Haven't tried Lauden.

I love Hotel Chocolate, there's a massive stand at London Bridge station and I nearly drool everytime I pass it ;) I'll be bringing some home with me!

I LOVE Hotel Chocolate.  [smiley=smitten.gif]

I also love Thorton's, Roses, M&S and Guylian. I'd also be happy if someone gave me chocolate bourbons. I just love chocolate.  :P

I love chocolate too! I know this may be slightly off topic, but DF brother bought us some M&S profiteroles and those were delish! M&S has some good sweets ;)

For fine chocolate gifts I like Charbonnel & Walker champagne truffles (even the packaging is lush),  Prestat, or Neuhaus.

Hotel Chocolate is my favourite. You can get it at their own shops, but I have also found it in John Lewis recently.
I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.' Kurt Vonnegut

Bons Bons now have chocolate in the shape of board games i.e. chocolate chess etc. How dangerous is that?  :o
