forgot to send a photocopy with visa app...
« on: June 21, 2013, 09:12:05 PM »
Sent off my tier 4 visa application, priority service, today. It's a lot different than the last time I got a visa, and I didn't realise until just now that I was supposed to send a photocopy of my passport, along with the passport itself. Now, of course I sent the passport. And everything else.

Anyone ever done this? Are they going to send the whole packet back to me because I forgot this copy? Or is it not a big deal? The website says they 'may' send everything back, and in visa-speak, that seems to me that it's usually okay, then. I'm just worried.
Sept '11: premium service same-day tier 4 visa granted in NYC
July '13: tier 4 visa - applied from boston
October '14: FLRM - applied priority in sheffield office
March '17: FLRM 2 - applied priority in sheffield office
Sept 2019: IRL, priority at Croydon, granted same day
October 2019: submitted naturalisation application
January 2020: citizenship approved!
March 2020: last citizenship ceremony before covid :-O

Let me know what happens, because I actually did the same thing. Ha. I mailed mine off on Friday and I used a priority service, so if I hear back before you do I'll post what happens.

Different visa, but same thing happened to me. I sent off for my spousal visa and didn't realize I needed to include a photocopy of my passport. I was approved for mine. I worried about it after I'd sent it and realized it, but rationalized that it would be rather silly of them to refuse someone's visa that otherwise met the requirements because of a photocopy. :)
May 17 2013 - Spouse visa sent to NYC
May 22 2013 - Package accepted at NYC
May 30 2013 - Received email from Sheffield that package was received and being processed
June 6 2013 - Received "A decision has been made..." email with UPS tracking details
June 10 2013 - Visa Issued and received via UPS!
Aug 28 2013 - Returning to the UK! Yay!

UPDATE: even though I didn't have that photocopy and did not write my name on my pictures, I was approved in under 48 hours. Woo!

All good here - didn't write my name on the pictures or photocopy my passport, and my visa was issued no problem.
