pubs that play Irish Music near Camden Town

Anyone know of good pubs that play Irish music in Camden town and surround? Will be visiting London later in the year and would like to take in some live music. 

When we were living in Camden Town, we mostly frequented more rock-y places, so I can't advise specifically.

But if you come over to Kilburn (20 minutes from the Camden Road overground to Brondesbury), there are loads. The Sir Colin Campbell on the high road and McGlynn's on Willesden Lane spring to mind.

Although the latter is something of an old-Irish-man pub, the first time we were in there, tabletop jigging and a lock-in went down. (Don't ask about that night, I only remember about a third of it.)

Never been to the former, so I can't vouch, but most of the pubs here are proper Irish, and the Irish will make sure you know just how Irish. Because Irish! (Love them, but man, my liver can't do take a night with the Irish too often.)

No worries. Enjoy your visit! I met my husband in Camden Town whilst on holiday, so it holds a special place in my heart, despite its being more than a little naff in a lot of ways.

Quintessential Camden is a disco-dressed drag queen opening the lock for a boat on the canal. Can't help but like it there....   

hms_seahorse has it right - you're not likely to find much traditional Irish music in Camden, given that Camden is a decidedly nontraditional place. Kilburn is the place to go in London for Irish culture, just make sure you're ready for a heavy night!
