so here goes: I'm from the USA via Canada (9 years in Toronto), moved to London almost 4 years ago. Immigrated to join my civil partner who had the better housing situation, job, etc. Not easy, don't feel at home, nice to have someplace to vent here ;-) I've found useful information in this forum before and hope to be able to give back, as I've been through so many visas and travel situations, and many of your experiences sound familiar!
