Rough day today
« on: July 17, 2013, 02:46:51 AM »
So my hubby moved back to the UK in February after his mother was hospitalized. His mum passed soon after.  I went over just before she passed and again for the funeral.  And you may know from my post we are having some difficulties obtaining a visa.

Anywho, I am having a rough time today and just need to vent.  We have been married for over 8.5 years and never spent this amount of time apart..... and yes we talk everyday but it is not the same.

So we were hoping I would be there by now and on July 4th they requested more financial info which we sent off.  Not sure if it is satisfactory or not, but with the recent court ruling, we know they are pausing visas that dont meet the financial requirements.  So now, do to the fact we have to keep his savings in the bank, I am having to move in with my parents at the end of August to save my funds.  In doing this I have to ship my cat, who I have had longer than I have been with my hubby, as my parents have 2 cats and 3 HUGE dogs.  My kitty doesnt play nice with other animals.

So now I am extremely sad, and angry, with the UKBA for tearing my small family apart.  We didn't ask for our situation and werent planning on moving for another couple of years, but it just sucks.  We dont want to sell the house as it has been in his family since before he was born.

At the moment all I want is to hug my hubby, but he is stuck there in lawsuits with DWP and the doctors who misdiagnosed his mums illness.

Anyway  Thanks for letting me vent :(

No advice, just lots of hugs coming your way. We had a month or two apart here and there after marriage, as we bounced from country to country, but nothing like you are going through now. I will keep my fingers and toes (and everything else) crossed for you and your family.

:( Sorry you're having to deal with this. We kind of went through the same thing. Hubby came over in Sept of 2011 as his dad was ill. We did plan on moving so he came over first to get a job and such. He got a job straight off, but it was with an agency. His dad passed away in October and I was very glad he got to spend time with his dad before he did. It took us (daughter and I) until MARCH of 2012 to finally get our visas. All that time I was living with my mom and dad.  We were waiting for hubby's job to write a letter stating that he was on a LONG term agency position that would eventually go to permanent (it was a long, complicated situation involving the person who my hubby replaced). I too was angry (and that was BEFORE the new UKBA rules). Irrationally angry with hubby as it was "His" country making it so hard, angry with life, angry that we were losing part of our life together.
I know how hard it is...we all do to some degree. Hang in there...once you're back together, this will just seem like a little blip in your life. Hugs! And I too will be keeping my fingers crossed that you and hubby and kitty will be back together soon!

Thanks everyone!!  Starting to pack now.  Got a great quote for moving...only $1475 including port fees and customs clearance.  And it is door to door not port to port.  Tho We are leaving most furniture here....as his mum left us a furnished house.  So really only clothes, dishes, and knick knacks going.....and the cat!!

Yes dancing, singing, throwing crap away i havent seen for years :)  It is a good clean out of clutter.  Since we arent taking any furniture (except my antique rocking chair) we should save money on the shipping costs
