Job offer in Farnborough
« on: August 02, 2013, 10:44:17 PM »
Hi!

Thought I would introduce myself before I post any questions on the board.  I've just received a job offer in Farnborough and that is what has led me to this forum.

I'm American, but have already been living in Europe (not UK) for 13 years.  In the time I've been living in Europe, I've also managed to become an EU citizen which makes my life here much, much easier.

My wife and I have been married for almost 6 years now and we have 2 beautiful young daughters that amaze us every single day.

Thank you Courtney for the welcome  :)  I haven't accepted the job offer yet as I'm still negotiating the compensation package with the company.  I do rather hope it works out though as it would be interesting to spend a few years in England.  I've only actually ever been there once and it was just a 2 day business trip some years ago.

Thanks Mirrajay, I appreciate that and I'll be sure to take you up on it if I can reach agreeable terms with the company.  They've been quite accommodating thus far so things are trending towards a positive conclusion  :)

Great news. I've accepted the offer. We won't actually move to England until the New Year so over the next few months I'll work remotely and fly over as needed.  This gives me ample time to sort my affairs locally in preparation of our international move as well as research in great detail and visit in advance the area we will be relocating to in Hampshire.

Our family is looking forward to this new journey :)

Welcome to Hampshire! (when you get here). I live in Portsmouth, been here since 2009 and love it here. There is a lot to do and see in Hampshire, I think you'll enjoy it. And congratulations on the job!

Thanks USA2Pompey for the welcome and congrats :)  We sure are looking forward to exploring the area and taking in all Hampshire has to offer!  I'm sure once we're all there I'll be asking for recommended things to do and see!
