Hey All,

Just wondering if anyone knew of anywhere in Glasgow that did an American Breakfast ie shredded Hash browns, American Sausage etc?

Also does anyone know of anywhere that is as close to the In and Out resturant in Glasgow? Or any BBQ resturants?

Any advice greatly appreciated.  :)

You could try Tribeca at 102 Dumbarton Road.

Or Al's Diner at 50 Weaver Street

Those are both selling themselves as 'American cafes', but I haven't tried them, so not sure how they are.

When you say In & Out, are you talking about the burger place?  You could try Ketchup.  Always packed full of happy-looking people, but I thought it was awful.

Or check out this Glasgow burger blog? Some of these look AMAZING!

For barbecue, try Smoak.  It's one of those sort of pop-up places that appears in various locations.  Currently they're at Sanctuary 59 Dumbarton Road, and I think they're still in the Variety bar in Sauchiehall Street.  I haven't tried them, but it gets great reviews.

Happy hunting!

Ohh how about any Mexican places that are like On the Border or Chillis with their amazing chips and salsa!! :)

Ohh and also are there many Americans here in Glasgow, are there any meet ups etc? Im not an American but lived there for a while so feel kinnda at home around other Americans. ;)

Cocktail & Burger on Sauchiehall comes the closest to In n Out, in my opinion. It's a sit down restaurant though, no fast food places do good American style burgers here.

Not familiar with On the Border but we have two Chipotle style burrito places - Taco Mazama and Pinto's. I think Taco Mazama is the best. Chiquito's at the Kingston Quay is a more sit down Mexican restaurant. It's a chain so has that Chilli's feel with chips and salsa and margaritas. They only give you a few though and last time I was there we got popcorn (?!) when we sat down instead of tortilla chips. And the Mexican food is just ok.

The only hash browns I've had here have been at McDonalds! TriBeCa is really good though. Massive portions. Not sure what you mean by American sausage? Like more of a seasoned link sausage? I think the British link sausages don't have enough flavour.

Not really had much BBQ food here but I've heard good things about Smoak and Buddy's.

Never been to In & Out, or On The Border, Chillis or Chipotle, so I can't really make that comparison.  I do like the burritos at Taco Mazama & Pintos, though!  I normally make my own, shopping at Lupe Pintos for the ingredients.
